Welcome to the Webcast and Recording Service
|
The CERN Webcast and Recording Service opens CERN lectures and seminars to universities,
schools and to the general public. This service allows you to watch live
webcasts 'as they happen' or watch archived lectures at your convenience.
It is also responsible for
- Recording lectures in a selection of equipped rooms (same as the webcast-able ones below)
- Audio Video transmission from and to the following rooms: Main amphi, Council Chamber, CCC, ATLAS SCX1, Globe, IT amphi, BE amphi Meyrin, BE amphi Prevessin, Kjell Johnsen, 40-S2-A01, 40,S2-C01, bldg 29, 222-R-001
Live webcasts
Live webcasts can be viewed on this page and are offered in both Windows Media format and Flash format, with
players for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
We can currently do live webcasts in the following CERN meeting rooms:

- Council Chamber
- IT Amphitheatre
- 40-S2-A01
- 40-S2-C01
- 222-R-001
- Globe 1st floor
- BE Auditorium
- TH Auditorium

Attendance statistics for each live webcast can be found on this page (accessible only to owners of a CERN account).
Archived webcasts
Once the webcasted event is over, its video will be made available for offline viewing. You can search for recently recorded lectures and events (e.g. recorded
workshops, conferences or important talks) on the CERN Document Server (CDS), or by clicking on any of the links in the Search rubrik in the left menu.

Important: Any webcast or video recording that you organise from CERN should comply to the Interim CERN policy for the use of webcams.

Important information on how to request and use our services
organising a live webcast of an event in an equipped room:
- Create an event in Indico and in the management area for this event, go to the "Video Services" menu item, and use the "webcast request" form.
- at least 2 weeks before the event
- the live webcast will be accessible from this site: http://webcast.cern.ch
- the video will be stored with the same access restrictions as the Indico event in CDS and directly accessible from the corresponding Indico page
- Please note that it is your responsibility (as organiser of the event) to request from the speaker his/her authorisation for being recorded
